Know Your Baby, Trust Yourself |
|
Know Your Baby, Trust Yourself is a personal home visiting program offered by Richie McFarland Children’s Center, experts in early childhood development and parenting support. Our customized in-home services are conducted by a highly trained early childhood specialist and focus on helping parents gain peace of mind while learning about their baby’s developmental strengths. We teach parents how to help their baby reach toward and move to their next level of development. Our focus is on your baby’s movement and coordination, problem solving and play skills, communication and speech and other developmental indicators including your baby’s emotional and social interactions. Our focus is also on you – the new parent – providing you with just the right tools and information to give you the confidence you need.
Our consultation is distinct and apart from medical visits to your child’s primary healthcare provider. We do not advise about medical matters. However, we work with physicians and community resources when the need arises. Our goal is to help new parents feel secure in their ability to help their child grow and flourish. New parents will feel assured by having professional support right in their home.
Our initial enrollment visit can begin as early as the very end of pregnancy to ensure that you, as a new mother or father, are prepared and confident as your new baby is about to come home. The personal home visits are offered at a frequency that you determine is best for your family, a one-time intensive visit, to quarterly visits, to every other month or even monthly.
Benefits to new parents · Awareness of the developmental stages of your baby · Tools to help your baby advance from one stage to another · Identification of strategies and activities to stimulate development · Guidance for managing a child’s daily routine including feeding, sleeping, playing and temperament · Referrals to community resources · Support with the stresses of parenting · Increased confidence and peace of mind

An In-home Learning Program for New Parents Is there anything more exciting than the birth of your first child? Your world is forever changed by the arrival of this new life that brings such joy to you and your family. And yet new parents often find themselves unprepared and unsure as to what they should expect. Even with stacks of new baby guides at their side, parents often feel overwhelmed by their responsibility. Is their baby learning and developing at “expected” rates? How can they help their baby learn and grow? And how can they resolve challenging behaviors within the daily routine such as eating and sleeping? Many new parents seek peace of mind and assurance that they are doing all they should be doing to help their baby grow. |
