RMCC Services

All RMCC programs are based on the family-centered model and a commitment to therapeutic excellence.

Our therapies are designed to "nip problems in the bud" before they become more complicated.  Addressing risk factors in early childhood greatly reduces, and in some cases eliminates, the need for more intensive and expensive interventions later on in a child's life.

Each of our programs offers therapies for the child and support and education for the entire family.  Our clinical staff creates customized service delivery teams to ensure the most effective services for each family.  Therapies include:

¨ Speech and language therapy

¨ Occupational and physical therapy

¨ Enhancement of social play and cognitive skills

¨ Family support and counseling

The majority of the children we serve are between the ages of birth to three years old. Some families choose to seek services from the public school system at age three.  We will support them through the transition process. We also serve families with children older than three who may not be eligible for school system services but would benefit from further RMCC programs.

Family-Centered Early Supports and Services

Program (ESS) -home-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers (ages birth to three) who meet the criteria of the entitlement program mandated through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA); supported in part by state and federal funding. Eligibility for this program is based on the child’s developmental profile, an established condition, delay or at-risk factors

Pediatric Therapies – play-based therapy for children (ages birth to five) who would benefit from therapeutic intervention but do not qualify for entitlement programs such as Early Supports and Services or Preschool Special Education. The therapeutic services offered include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language pathology and special education/instruction.

Early Learning Groups - play-based, preschool-readiness group experiences at both of our locations or other community settings. These groups provide children with valuable social opportunities that include developmentally appropriate activities as well as individualized education and therapeutic support as needed.

We limit the number of participants in all our Play Groups to ensure individualized attention.

Parent-Child Playtimes - educational group experience that supports families in creating social opportunites for their children, provides caregivers with developmental guidance, demonstrates positive discipline strategies, and creates a safe environment for families to network and gain support from one another.

Baby Signs® - curriculum-based program for any parent who wants to foster communication with their young children. The program teaches easy ways to learn and practice sign language through the single session Parent Workshop or the 6-week Sign, Say and Play™ class.

Parents As Teachers® - research-based education program that offers parents practical ways to encourage learning, manage challenging behavior, and promote strong parent-child relationships. The program’s core components consist of personal visits, group meetings, developmental screenings and linkages to a network of community resources.

Hanen Programs - parent education programs (It Takes Two to Talk® and More than Words®) that teach caregivers interaction guidelines and fun activities that enhance a child’s communication skills. The programs combine group learning and individual consultation to help parents understand strategies for developing their child’s speech, language and communication skills.
